Volunteer

Volunteers play a crucial role at Jipange. We welcome volunteers who would like to work directly with our students as well as those who prefer to help with administrative work. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, agree to abide by Jipange’s code of conduct, and attend an orientation session before participating in Jipange’s activities.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Mark Sabwami at; info@jipange.org, mark2019@iiseconnect.org or marksabwami87@gmail.com

Teaching Assistant – Volunteers who have a specific experience in teaching individuals who are blind, in braille, or in assistive technology are invited to share their expertise as a volunteer.

Special Events Volunteers – Throughout the year, Jipange hosts several special events to raise funds and awareness in support of our mission. Annual events require substantial volunteer involvement to ensure that they are a huge success. Volunteers are needed for event set-up & breakdown, greeting, registering, helping with family activities, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Dinning – All our students’ meals are served daily in our dining room. Volunteers will serve as dining room servers, where their duties will include assisting students to obtain their plates, cups and cutlery, safely navigate the room, and return their utensils to the serving area. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Consider additional time for administrative support.
